A final proposal for a Decade of Healthy Ageing 2020-2030 represents the second Action Plan of the WHO Global Strategy for ageing and health.
It is aligned both with the United Nations Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals. The Decade proposal will be considered for endorsement by Member States at the 73rd World Health Assembly in May 2020.
Action directed towards combating ageism and fostering age-friendly environments and communities are emphasised. Another important action area concerns the development and delivery of person-centred, integrated care primary health services responsive to the health needs of older people.
